Ras Al Khaimah, UAE

According to programingplease, the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is just 45 minutes drive from Dubai International Airport and is known for its beaches, mountains, crystal clear seas and wildlife away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here you will enjoy peace and quiet, sunrises and sunsets, in world-class hotels.

What to do in Ras Al Khaimah?

Water activities

The snow-white beaches of Ras al-Khaimah, stretching for 64 kilometers, are perfection itself. The emirate has several natural lagoons and stretches of open coastline. For lovers of water sports, there is a huge choice of entertainment: windsurfing, sailing, banana riding, wakeboarding, water skiing, fishing and much more.

Entertainment for the whole family

For families with children, every hotel has kids clubs (sometimes with water slides). Parents with older children can spend time on the go-kart track to experience the thrill of high speeds and kart maneuvers together. Between the Al Hamra quarter and the city center there are 5 shopping centers, the largest of them is Mall Manar.

Desert

The color of the sand dunes of Ras Al Khaimah changes hue depending on the angle of view, the activity of the sun and the time of day from yellow to red or pale purple. Off-road desert safari is a breathtaking adventure. At the Bedouin Oasis camp, guests will learn about the lifestyle of desert nomads, their tents with goatskin roofs, which are heated and illuminated using live fire or antique gas lamps. An extraordinary cultural experience helps to take a fresh look at the emirate and local traditions.

Falcon show

The falconry show is a traditional entertainment in Ras Al Khaimah. It takes place in a special place – the first desert spa resort “Ritz Carlton Al Wadi”. It is built on the territory of a natural reserve, which is home to white oryx and Arabian gazelles. The swift flights of falcons over their natural habitat is a breathtaking sight. I immediately want to know the secrets of hunters who tame these independent and proud birds.

Rich history and culture

Ras Al Khaimah has a rich cultural heritage dating back to the Bronze Age. This makes the emirate one of the few places where people have lived for 7,000 years. One of the main attractions of the emirate is the Dhayah fort, which was built in the 16th century. An equally significant cultural site is the National Museum, which contains an interesting collection of archaeological and ethnographic artifacts. The ethnographic section of the museum is dedicated to the traditional way of life in the emirate, its architecture and the traditional activities of the locals: pearl fishing, date growing, agriculture and fishing. Shuttle tickets can be purchased on board the bus. The shuttle makes stops near the main hotels of Ras Al Khaimah.

Via Ferrata

Via ferrata in Ras Al Khaimah is built on the highest mountain in the UAE – Jebel Jais (1,934 meters above sea level). During the passage of the route, you can see gorges and mountain ranges to the very horizon.
There are 3 routes equipped at different heights, they are interconnected by ziplines: 50, 60 and 300 meters. The start of the standard course starts from the lowest point, but the professionals are invited to immediately climb to the highest point of the track vertically up the sheer cliff. The routes are passed by a group of up to 8 people, accompanied by instructors, on average it takes 2 hours.

New city shuttle – RAK Shuttle bus

The longest zipline in the world – Jebel Jais Flight

The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah now holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest zipline. It was opened on the mountain Jebel Jays and already attracts tourists from all over the world. The special commission that recorded the record determined that the length of the slope is 2,830 meters, which is equal to the size of 28 football fields. The slope, located at an altitude of 1,680 meters, was built by Toro Verde with the support of the Emirati Tourism Development Department. It consists of two parallel cables, which allows you to enjoy the flight together with friends or family members. Depending on the weight of visitors and weather conditions, the speed of descent reaches 120–150 km/h, and the flight itself takes 2–3 minutes. At the moment, the attraction serves about 200 visitors a day.
