Learning Self Love

On Instagram, Tumblr and Facebook, users suddenly refer to as “Body Positivity Activists” and “ED Warriors” (in German: fighter against eating disorders) and join together to rebel against the common ideals of beauty, such as plus-size model Tess holiday now. Also stars such as Amy Schumer and Selena Gomez are included. Too small, too big, too fat, too thin, bad skin? It should not prevent us from loving ourselves

Megan Jayne Crabbe: Body transformation from thin to curvy

“Megan looked 3 months ago…” Everyone knows about the body-transformation pictures and videos of fitness apps and diet vendors who bring the body transformation of their customers on social media under the people. This Instagram Star turns the tables and shows their transformation from from thin to curvy, from unhappy to happy. You describes himself as former Anorexics, healed self hater and “ED Warrior”. Post before-after comparisons and shows proudly her body: “links see me 2.5 years ago, right see me today. The company wants to make believe us you will automatically happier if it weighs less. She want that I am ashamed of my body transformation. I take off again. That I’m wasting my time, chasing the ideal of beauty on the left half of the picture and I believe, that when I corresponded to this ideal, then more worth I! I waste no time more, a flat stomach or a number on the dare to hunt down. Lucky knows no dress size. Weight loss does not help against self hatred!”

Megan looked like by the way before their way to the body positivity!

“One day you will wake up and realize how many moments you missed because you were so busy to hate your mirror image.”

A matter of perspective…

Anna Victoria shows what you least expect by a toned Fitness guru and thus moves the network: a normal stomach. The American is known for digital workout and diet plans and post every day one or two pictures as well as videos for their Instagram 1.3 million followers. Usually she are posing here and coaching on the sport mat or in front of the mirror at the gym – its seemingly perfectly formed body including shows washboard abs is always in focus.

Now, Anna Victoria has posted a less favorable Selfie. It shows her sitting in a bikini in a relaxed and completely normal position on the sofa. Sixpack? Of which is here no trace. The exciting fact: It is not a typical “before”-image, this one is used by popular fitness account. Anna Victoria not many months has made the image prior to her fitness career, but only in a short workout break. The comparison picture left next to the unusual recording and their text to the post proves it. Anna Victoria explains that the two images are taken easy from different perspectives. Their message: Good and bad perspectives change nothing because you’re as valuable. We agree wholeheartedly!

Small, large, thick, thin: Victoria’s-secret show different time

She is tall, very slim, extremely well trained and has (mostly) a long wall mane – the typical Victoria’s secret model is indeed beautiful, but not necessarily constitutes the majority of the female population of the world. To bring more physical diversity in the game and to show that every woman is beautiful, has now its very own version of the famous underwear show on the catwalk brought the American news platform Buzzfeed and committed women with different masses, skin color and body sizes for this – is also a transgender model. The action to point out once again that the fashion industry could use a good dose of more body diversity.

As the original the show video organized by Buzzfeed shows the models as they prepare for the big moment, how they feel, a part of the project to be and what they expect of them. Also, many of the women about their (sometimes) difficult relationship with her supposedly “imperfect” body talk. Plus-size model Tess holiday is one of the best known participants of the show. We find: a great action!

Iskra Lawrence: “you deserve to love yourself”

Strong performance: plus-size model Iskra Lawrence has just turned out in the New York subway and Metro celebrates body positivity. “My request to you: when you go home, you don’t look in the mirror at and the standards of society creates it and maintains your uncertainties.” Talking to yourself by you are celebrating you. Do not judge others. You deserve to love yourself”, is their message. That applies not only to passengers but also worldwide: Iskra is with her video of part of the #unmuted video series, which has set itself the aim to make visible our self talk, and that is – turned New York’s most intimate place generally always on the subway, as it says on the website our site, even.

Here a small excerpt from Iskras Instagram account:

Kenzie Brenna: “cellulite is just a fucking thing our bodies do. (…)” “Imagine if a unicorn what chopping off is because it’s culture says so.”

Actually, we all know it: cellulite is nothing to be ashamed. And yet the so-called cellulite under long, thicker clothes is hidden and fought with the various methods – from the caffeine cream to plucking massage. The main thing away with the dents and produced with aplomb! Kenzie Brenna is total nonsense. The Canadian body activist wants the eternal condemnation put an end to cellulite and says: cellulite is a normal feature of the body.

She themselves also long tried to get rid of the dents, but was a failure – and that do though she walk five times a week in the gym, yoga and diet is very healthy. That’s why has she decided one day to accept their body instead of fighting against it and posted a picture of himself and the cellulite with the Hashtag #cellulitesaturday. Since then, more and more women post pictures of themselves and their supposed beauty flaws, to be affiliated to that cellulite is nothing more than a normal feature of the body.

Tess Holliday: “plus size is not a dirty word”

Plus-size model. The term polarization – and many plus-size models have the stamp of “Plus-size” by itself. Not so Tess Holliday. The model, which wears a size 52, sees the term differently: “the whole discussion is nonsense. The name ‘Plus-Size’ was never used in a negative manner”, she told the paper magazine. “The only thing bugging me is that so many people take out, to judge me, my body and my health.” She even had to be always model and indicates as inspiration Mia Tyler, daughter of Aerosmith singer Steve Tyler and also plus-size model. Her dream of modelling has persistently and obstinately pursues and “No” for an answer just not accepted. With ” EFF your beauty standards” the 22 year-old, who is pregnant with her second child by the way, has founded a Facebook Platform for more self love. There, she collects articles and motivational sayings such as “what do you think of yourself is more important than what people think of you”.

Amy Schumer: “I have to thank so many foods for this”

It is the US GQ cover star, adorns the Pirelli Calendar and is virtually regarded as the wittiest woman of the Earth: Amy Schumer. The standup comedian has to occur not only no shyness social conventions on the feet, but feels too poodle at home in her own skin. When she a small miniature Oscar for “Best Bod” discovered, she published a snapshot on Instagram and naturally has a “Schumer” Witz ready: “I have to thank so many foods for this.”

Matt Diaz: “I’m not ashamed, but it’s a daily struggle to love yourself”

What happens if you trained hard and just under 125 kilos? The fat disappears, to build muscle – but the skin remains. Matt Diaz is reflected in the character of the #BodyPositivity movement on Tumblr still without T-Shirt and wonderfully honest talks about his career and self doubt. “I’m trying not to be ashamed, because I’m proud of what I did, but it’s a daily struggle to love themselves. I can not talk about body positivity and give training tips when I’m hiding. That’s me. So, my body looks now. I wanted to show it to you.
