Although the Mariana Trench is not part of Guam, the island is the closest point to this miracle of our planet. From Guam, you can go on a private excursion to the Mariana Trench, but it is located 300 kilometers from the island, and visiting this place will not be cheap at all. Among other interesting places on the island, you should definitely visit the ancient stone slabs of Latte, existing exclusively in the Marianas archipelago, the Talofofo waterfalls, the legacy of the island’s past – the Guam Statue of Liberty, the Plaza of Spain and the statue of Chamorrza, as well as monuments of the Battle of Guam between Japan and the United States. National Cuisine of Guam

The national cuisine of Guam is a bright mixture of the taste traditions of Oceania, Spain, and now also the USA. Locals use various cooking technologies, fry something, boil something, stew, and sometimes eat it raw, especially fish and freshly caught seafood. Among the most beloved national dishes of Guam, it is worth highlighting “kelagen-manok” – chicken baked with the appropriate sauce, “haole” – meat fried in spices, “atolin-mais” – a thick stew made from coconut milk, potatoes with chicken, “la-jo” – beans with mussels, “paxiu” – white fish in vinegar and, of course, shark fin soup, which has healing powers.
